Mustang Clear Bras from StangMods

Why do so many Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche dealers install clear bras on these vehicles before they leave the lot? For one reason, to protect the paint finish of these high priced automobiles. Now you can add the same protection to your Mustang with our VentureShield Clear Bra Protection Kits.

We offer them for the 99-08 Mustang V6, GT, & Cobra. We also have a protection kit for 99-04 Saleens. With the individual kits, you can help protect areas such as your front bumper, hood, fenders, side mirrors, rocker panels, and wheel well openings.

VentureShield offers a LIFETIME warranty on their products. The film when installed is nearly invisible and will help protect against rock chips, road debris, bug stains, and grime.

If you have a new Mustang or even an older Stang that you want to ensure stays in tip top shape, a clear bra kit is the ultimate in vehicle protection. Our entire inventory of Mustang clear bra kits can be found: http://www.stangmods.com/Mustang-Care-and-Maintenance-Products-s/259.htm

Installing 2005-2008 Mustang Turn Signals

Lately, one of the most popular upgrades that 2005+ Mustang owners are doing is replacing the stock amber front turn signals with a clear, smoked, or black turn signal lens. Today, we are going over the installation process and photo comparisons of each different lens.

Tools/Parts Needed:

  • Phillips Head Screwdriver
  • Plyers
  • Clear, Smoked, or Black Turn Signal Lenses

  • 1. The first step is to make sure your vehicle is parked on a level service with the parking brake engaged. Turn your steering wheel at full lock to the side opposite the one you are installing the lens on. (If you are installing the lens on the driver's side, turn the wheel all the way over to the passenger side) This will give you enough room to work with. You can use the phillips screwdriver to remove the screws on inner fender lining to give you access to the lenses. Also, it is not necessary to lift the car but it will make the process of getting access to the lens and having enough working room much easier.

    2. Once you have access to the rear of the lens, you will need to remove the bulbs in the stock lens housing. There are two separate bulbs in each lens. (3157 and 194 bulb signified by red arrows in the picture below)Remove the bulbs by simply grasping the base firmly and turning counter-clockwise. They should come out with minimal effort.

    3. After you've removed the bulbs from the rear of the lens, you will see two white prongs which are holding the lens in place. (see red arrows in the picture below) What you want to do is squeeze these white prongs with your plyers/channel locks while you gently press on the front of the lens. This will release the lens from the housing. This process will be easier if you have another set of hands to push the lens while you are releasing the prongs.

    4. Now, after you've removed the stock lens, you simply need to re-install the bulbs in your new lens and reverse the process from step three.

A popular upgrade to go with your new lenses are our 3157 Chrome/Amber Bulbs and 194 Chrome/Amber Bulbs. These bulbs help you take advantage of your new clear/smoked look by removing the stock amber bulb and replacing it with a bulb that still glows amber when activated, but appears almost invisible when off. HID Flickering for 2005 and up Mustangs

Have you purchased an HID kit for your 2005+ Mustang only to have flickering problems with the lights? If so, you are not alone. The ECU (computer) on 2005+ Mustangs respond differently to performance modifications and the same is true when you install HID lights. StangMods.com has a fix for this problem. By adding our heavy-duty, upgraded relay to the wiring harness of your HID kit, the flickering and strobing problem will be solved.

Any reputable HID kit should come with an auxiliary wiring harness with inline fuse and relay. If your kit did not come with this, you will not be able to properly install your HID kit without cutting into your stock headlight harness. Single beam HID kits for the 2005+ Mustang will require one relay, while most dual beam kits will require two to three. Please contact us: sales@stangmods.com if you need help identifying how many relays you will need and if they are compatible with your specific HID kit. Remember, all single beam and dual beam HID kits from StangMods.com comes with the upgraded relay(s) and harness to ensure proper functioning the first time around. Feel free to contact us with any and all questions regarding your specific lighting needs.

    As always,

Have fun in your Stang and be safe!
